Sonderhoff Offers Foam Sealants & Adhesive Products for Air Filtration Systems

   For effective air filtration, manufacturers require seal integrity, and Sonderhoff is among the companies that develop and offer adhesive and sealant solutions to manufacturers.  It says that its Fermadur range of polyurethane-based foam sealants for bonding and sealing filter media will reduce material costs and weight by up to 50 percent. The adhesives are used in conjunction with Sonderhoff’s SMART-M dispensing cell which applies a two-component foam gasket to the filter frame before the filter material is bonded to it.

   Sonderhoff says that its products are used by makers of air filters for HVAC systems, automotive air filters, and vacuum cleaner filters and that its products are compliant with the standards set for cleanrooms and hospitals. It mentions its Fermapor K31 Low Emission product, developed for vehicle air conditioning systems and notes that this application requires a product with very low VOC emissions. Daimler has confirmed that Fermapor is compliant with its emissions targets. In HVAC systems, Sonderhoff’s filter adhesives offer anti-fungicidal and anti-microbial benefits as confirmed by the Institute for Air Hygiene in Berlin.
