PACK EXPO 2010 was a great success for H.B. Fuller. Energized attendees from all regions of the world had a noticeable sense of purpose this year. They were seeking innovations to help them improve their products and processes, solutions that can help them accomplish more with fewer resources, and collaborative partnerships to help them navigate the economic recovery.
The focus of H.B. Fuller’s booth, “Solutions Start to Finish,” resonated with the attendees we talked to during the show. Showcasing the breadth of our solutions, we reinforced that H.B. Fuller offers more than just innovative adhesives. Our consultative approach makes us problem-solvers for our customers. At the show, we featured our Advantra LT™ high performance, low application temperature adhesives for case and carton, our new FlextraSL Fast™ solventless flexible packaging adhesive system, our proven bottle labeling adhesives and the packaging engineering, reinforcement and opening solutions from our Adalis® subsidiary.
Customer Sustainability
It is no surprise that sustainability was on the minds of the attendees again this year. To address our customers’ need to build their sustainability efforts, we focused on the advantages of Advantra LT™ (low temperature) adhesives that provide high performance in a wide range of case and carton applications, at energy conserving temperatures of only 250° F/121° C. Our new Advantra™ hot melt white paper, introduced at the show, chronicles
H.B. Fuller’s invention of metallocene hot melt technology and explains how Advantra adhesives provide inroads to meeting customer sustainability objectives. If you did not pick one up at the show, you can download the Advantra white paper here.
We also heard that automation and efficiency is high on attendees’ list of priorities going forward. Packaging manufacturers told us that their equipment must do more than ever before and they want adhesives that can accommodate their varying production stages. This is very good news for H.B. Fuller as our proven, innovative formulations such as Advantra hot melts and Flextra™ flexible packaging adhesives accommodate many applications.
Collaborative Spirit
The clear message we received from PACK EXPO 2010 is that the packaging industry is looking for partners, not just suppliers. This was echoed by consumer packaged goods companies at our Focus Forward flexible packaging symposium last month. As an adhesive provider already dedicated to partnering with our customers to deliver the solutions they need, H.B. Fuller is excited to continue our collaboration with the packaging industry now and in the future.
