New Tough Edge™ Banner Hem Tape Eliminates Grommets, Folding and Sewing

Specialty Tapes LLC, Franksville, Wisconsin has introduced Tough Edge Banner Hem Tape, Product S870, which is a high strength, white reinforced, composite backing, single coated with a high tack acrylic adhesive. Tough Edge permanently bonds banner edges and signs to eliminate the need for grommets, folding and sewing. The finished banner edge has a smooth, unrippled hem. Tough Edge Banner Hem tape is resistant to plasticizers, temperature variations, water and humidity. Holes may be punched through the material for no tear fastening. The aggressive adhesive is highly moisture resistant and has excellent durability in extreme cold and heat.

The carrier is an 8 mil composite laminate that is highly conformable and puncture resistant. The acrylic adhesive system is resistant to water, moisture and plasticizers.   It resists extreme temperature swings, such as year round outdoor construction. A high tack pressure sensitive adhesive is coated on one side of the laminate and achieves adhesion of 115 oz/in on stainless steel. Temperature resistance is -400 F to +2000 F. Tough Edge is commonly used at construction sites for horizontal and vertical exterior wall shielding and signage.

New High Performance Silicone Adhesive Splicing Tape, Product S292CLA

Specialty Tapes LLC, Franksville, Wisconsin has introduced Product S292CLA, a new high performance splicing tape for converting and web processing applications. The new splicing tape has a clear, polyester backing coated with a high temperature silicone adhesive. It provides an extremely durable, superior bond to the most difficult silicone release coated surfaces and interliners. Product S292CLA has a highly conformable polyester film that resists tearing and punctures. The splicing tape is chemically resistant and the silicone pressure sensitive adhesive has a very firm rheology that resists flow, oozing and slippage. It can also be easily die cut. 

The backing consists of a highly conformable one mil polyester film coated with two mils of a high performance, high temperature silicone pressure sensitive adhesive.    The silicone adhesive system is resistant to water, moisture and plasticizers. The tape achieves adhesion of 43 oz/in on stainless steel. Temperature resistance is -400 F to +4000 F. The aggressive silicone adhesive properties of this tape are ideal for web splicing applications in the Industrial converting segment, Printing and Graphics web handling and Electronics plating and masking.

New Black/Yellow Hazard Striped Tunnel Tape™, Product S56

Specialty Tapes LLC, Franksville, Wisconsin has introduced a new black / yellow hazard striped Tunnel Tape, which increases safety at public events, concerts and trade shows by creating a non-adhesive cover over wiring, cables, conduit and air lines, while attaching itself to vertical or horizontal surfaces by a removable adhesive coating on its edges. The unique, natural rubber pressure sensitive adhesive is zone coated as edge bands on the conformable backing. Tunnel Tape can also be repositioned several times without loss of adhesion. Removal is clean, with no adhesive residue left on cables or attachment surfaces. Tunnel Tape is also hand tearable, for easy, precise installation. 

The highly visible black / yellow hazard striped surface of product S56 provides additional consumer safety, particularly in low light conditions. The tape consists of a polyethylene coated cloth that provides a durable, puncture resistant, hand tearable backing which is zone coated with a natural rubber, removable adhesive. The tape has a total thickness of 11 mills and achieves adhesion of 55 oz/in on stainless steel. Temperature resistance is -200 F to +1500 F. A matte black version of Tunnel Tape is also available as product S54.
