Patent - PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid composition which is newly developed for achieving the handling of a liquid sealant which forms nonaqueous film and a complete sealing effect, heavier than water and is modifiable depending on its applications to prevent evaporation of water in sewage pipes or water storage tanks. SOLUTION: The composition is formed by treating an originally liquid nonaqueous material, by utilizing carbon dioxide gas generated in the neutralization reaction of an alkali metal carbonate and an acidic material in water and solidifying it into the form of a capsule, tablet or folding by making use of a water-insoluble material with a heavier specific gravity than water as the carrier. The carbon dioxide gas generated helps the composition in working effectively. This formulation widens its scope of applications, and works well in an area or use hitherto inapplicable and can possibly be a product flexible in taking a variety of sizes and shapes.
