WestMoonint officially launches styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) products for automotive industries applications. And these styrene butadiene rubber products include SBR 1502 grade and SBR 1712 grade.

WestMoonint launches styrene butadiene rubber 1502 grade and styrene butadiene rubber 1712 grade, which are manufactured by Sinopec Chemical Company, meeting different synthetic rubber application demand, especially for automotive industries.

Compared to natural rubber, SBR has better processability, heat aging and abrasion resistance but is inferior in terms of elongation, hot tear strength, hysteresis, resilience and tensile strength. With over 70% being consumed in the manufacture of tyres and tyre products, demand is very much dependent on the automotive sector.

In non-tyre applications, there has been faster growth in other synthetic rubbers, such as ethylene-propylene-diene monomer (EPDM) and nitrile rubbers as a substitute for SBR. However, non-tyre uses for SBR are growing with applications including conveyor belts, gaskets, hoses, floor tiles, footwear and adhesives.

Through China SBR demand is growing, because of Chinese booming automotive industries, and US SBR market tends to decline, yet WestMoonint is still confident overseas SBR market, Europe market in particular. For Europe automotive market is still healthy, and there is no such automotive plant closure, and the SBR market is relatively balanced. On the other hand, the price of SBR is growing from mid-August. Therefore, WestMoonint releases its SBR products during its price peak time, aiming to provide more synthetic rubber consumers more choices and solutions and help them to reduce cost.

Taking the applications of styrene butadiene rubber and its market share consideration, WestMoonint will launch more synthetic rubber products, such EPDM and nitrile rubber products, in addition to current WestMoonints other synthetic rubber products, Hypalon rubber, CPE rubber, CR, etc, WestMoonint could provide synthetic rubber consumers more cost-effective purchasing choices and solutions.
