J.P. Huang, Ph.D., Structural Adhesives Technology, has been selected to present a technical paper at the Thermoset Resin Formulators Association Annual Meeting. The presentation will take place on Sept. 13 at the Crowne-Plaza Niagara-Fallsview, Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Huang will present a paper entitled "Mechanical Properties of Adhesive Matrix and Their Influence on Adhesive Performance." Huangs presentation will cover structural adhesives and their role in the automotive and industrial assembly industries. Topics will include versatility and benefits of using structural adhesive technology verses conventional mechanical fastening and welding. Two test methods, dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) and tensile testing, will be discussed as major tools for characterizing adhesive bulk properties. In addition, correlations among formulation composition, bulk properties and adhesive performance will be presented.
