The 14th China International Adhesives and Sealants Exhibition (CHINA ADHESIVE 2011) is being held in Guangzhou, China from September 28-30, 2011. At this years tradeshow, Evonik is highlighting a broad range of high-tech products and solutions for the adhesives & sealants industry.
According to China Adhesive Industry Association, Chinas adhesive output will reach 7.17 million tons, with sales of RMB 103.8 billion by the end of 2015. The megatrend of resource efficiency is regarded as one of the key growth drivers for the future. The adhesive industry in China will focus on the development of environmental-friendly products. Based on various chemical platforms, Evonik offers products and solutions which enable adhesive manufacturers to enhance their formulations to achieve higher performance and effectiveness. The constantly growing portfolio of products and solutions reflects our innovation and flexibility, the answer to current and possible future market demands.
As one of the significant suppliers for the adhesives and sealants industry, the company established the Evonik for Adhesives & Sealants Team (EAST) which pools the Groups entire adhesives and sealants expertise and incorporates all corresponding products. "The Industry Team of EAST enables Evonik to offer its customers first-rate system solutions for adhesives. The team members meet regularly to share experiences, allowing us to utilize the synergies in order to offer our customers the best possible solution," said Dr. Ralf Düssel, chairman of EAST. Covered by a common visual, Evonik is also bundling its communication efforts to the Adhesive & Sealants industry by using the Romeo and Juliet motif.
Evoniks Adhesive Resins Product Line is offering a broad range of products and solutions for the adhesives & sealants industry. They provide the DYNACOLL Series, polyester-polyols, copolyesters and polyacrylates for reactive and thermoplastic hot melts. With DYNACOLL Terra, the company has recently expanded its DYNACOLL product range to include polyester made from renewable raw materials. Evonik has introduced six development products with a broad spectrum of properties. The individual products contain between >30 and 100 percent monomers derived from renewable resources. These polyesters can be variously combined in adhesive formulations. Good adhesion properties have already been achieved on a variety of substrates, particularly wood and plastics. By developing DYNACOLL Terra product range, Evonik has underscored responsibility and contributes to the trend in the chemicals industry to a greener future.
Furthermore, Evoniks product portfolio at China Adhesives contains liquid polybutadienes markted under the brand POLYVEST, VESTOPLAST, amorphous poly-alpha-olefines, VESTOWAX synthetic waxes produced by the Fischer-Tropsch process and DEGALAN, methacrylat binders for heat sealing applications. The Adhesive Resins Product Line will present its new market approach at the China Adhesives. Based on the claim "Designed Polymers for Adhesives & Sealants" Evonik will introduce its "flying the flag"-campaign for the first time in Asia.
MS- and SPUR-systems as well as other hybrid polymer based products are getting more and more popular in China. Evoniks Dynasylan product is a high performance additive supporting those systems, e.g. as endcapper. In addition Dynasylan acts as an adhesion promoter, crosslinker and water scavenger, some Dynasylan products can achieve an excellent performance complying with MS-polymer and SPUR-systems. It offers unique property improvements, such as less water uptake and higher elongation. It also can provide adhesion to difficult substrates.
AEROSIL fumed silica and SIPERNAT precipitated silica are used as an active reinforcing filler to improve the mechanical properties of adhesives & sealants, with the key functions of rheology control, thixotropy, reinforcement, flow improvement and stabilization. Evoniks silica products have been widely used in traditional industries and industrial adhesive products for many years.
