PolyOne Launches Geon™ Homopolymer Vinyl Dispersion Resin for Hotmelt Plastisols

CLEVELAND -- PolyOne Corporation, one of the premier global providers of specialized polymer materials, services and solutions, has recently introduced Geon™ Adept homopolymer vinyl dispersion resin, featuring high clarity, fast fusion, low melt viscosity, and non-settling characteristics. Manufacturers of plastisol textile printing inks, hot melt plastisols, and polyurethane caulks will benefit from Geon Adepts novel combination of properties, allowing them to grow revenues and profitability by expanding their range of offerings, decreasing cycle times and reducing scrap.

For hot melt plastisol production, with its low melt viscosity, Geon Adept vinyl resin helps to increase productivity. Its improved non-settling performance extends plastisol pot-life while reducing stirring, prep time, and scrap. The high clarity of Geon Adept is ideal for special-effect inks such as metallic flake pigments. Geon Adept offers longer shelf life and less waste due to its improved viscosity aging performance. In addition, the resins fast fusion properties also make it suitable for use in "high build" inks, offering an alternative to copolymer resins. Moreover, the resins non-settling characteristics can also extend the shelf life of the formulated ink.
