ARLINGTON, VA (January 26, 2012) — The Curbside Value Partnership (CVP), a national nonprofit organization that works to increase participation and improve efficiencies in residential curbside recycling programs, welcomes the American Chemistry Council (ACC) as its newest board member and sponsor. ACCs Plastics Division represents leading manufacturers of plastic resins and works through strategic partnerships to increase plastics recycling.

“ACC is an important addition to CVP,” said David Gill, CVP board chair and global account director at Novelis. “The addition of ACC to the CVP Board highlights the importance we place on recycling all eligible materials curbside. This addition also allows us to do more and do it faster, which means helping more communities improve their recycling programs.”

ACC joins the long and growing list of companies and nonprofits that support CVP, including Alcoa, Ball Corporation, BWAY Corporation, Crown Holdings Inc, Coca Cola Recycling, Impress USA, Keep America Beautiful, Metal Container Corporation, Novelis, Rexam, Silgan Containers Corporation, Sonoco-Phoenix Inc, Tri-Arrow Aluminum and the Van Can Company.

Currently, the only national program that engages all recycling stakeholders to identify solutions to improving curbside recycling, CVP is a 501(c)INSERT INTO [lzx].[dbo].[tb_new]([id],[type],[title],[source],[personal],[image],[contents],[time],[number]) VALUES (3) organization dedicated to helping local communities increase participation in their curbside recycling programs through education and measurement. Each year, CVP selects new partner communities and works closely with them to develop, execute and measure the effectiveness of educational campaigns. All campaigns are commodity-neutral and focus on increasing participation in and tonnage collected from residential recycling. In 2011, CVP partnered with St. Louis County, Missouri, and the Central Virginia Waste Management Authority, which includes Richmond and surrounding communities. Data to measure the impact of these campaigns is expected to become available in spring 2012.
