CLEVELAND and BARCELONA, Spain -- The Lubrizol Corporation and Merquinsa are located at booth #35004 at the NPE 2012 international plastics exposition. Together, these leaders in polymer technology are promoting bio-based resins formulated from renewable materials, with bio content from 20% up to 90% according to ASTM D6866. The Bio TPU by Merquinsa portfolio demonstrates the same thermal, chemical and hydrolysis resistance as standard polyester TPU grades and has been tested in the sports and recreation, electronics and transportation industries. The Pearlthane ECO product line will be featured at the show.
Combining Merquinsas portfolio with Lubrizols bio-based products, Lubrizol Engineered Polymers can offer bio-based polyester TPUs that range in hardness from 70 Shore A to 55 Shore D with renewable material content ranging from approximately 24% - 80% according to ASTM D6866. These resins may be processed using injection molding and extrusion.
