Herma at FachPack 2012: to Launch Advanced Series of Labeling Machines

Fast, rugged, compact -- and excellent value for money: Herma is launching an entirely new series of labeling machines at FachPack 2012. Being premiered in Nuremberg is the first of the series, the 362 E, which can apply labels to two sides of a product with the utmost efficiency. According to Martin Kühl, head of Hermas labeling Machines division, "This machine offers users the best of both worlds." The E-series shares many components with the larger M-series, including the enclosed, extremely stable and durable stainless steel machine stand, and the parts responsible for aligning and stabilizing the product. Endowed with such proven components, it is predestined for challenging workflows and high-speed operation. In view of its design, the 362 E does not need the elaborate guards of the M-series. As a result, it occupies only a little more space than the more petite C series. Herma has already announced its intention gradually to introduce additional E-series models offering similar benefits.

No obtrusive hood

"We know that many users attach great importance to high productivity and stable production processes but, at the same time, the accuracy required for labeling can be as generous as plus or minus one millimeter," explains Martin Kühl. Against this background, the 362 E dispenses with both a centering device and a scroll-type separator. These components would offer exceptional labeling accuracy, but they would also require an obtrusive hood, and the machine would occupy more production space.

Modular concept designed for the future

Like all Herma labeling machines, the 362 E is based on a modular design. The efficiency that originates from modular construction is reflected in the ease of retrofits, upgrades and modifications, typically to allow wrap-around labeling. Herma machines are acknowledged as an especially future-proof investment. In addition, expenditure on add-on units is not essential when the machine is procured; these can be acquired later, once a specific need arises. The various modules are also designed for subsequent installation with very little time and cost input.
