LORD Corporation Introduces Chemlok 8116 Aqueous-based Adhesive 

LORD Corporation -- one of the global leader in developing rubber-to-substrate bonding adhesives for industrial and automotive markets - has announced the availability of a new adhesive specifically designed for silicone and FKM elastomers.

Specially designed for bonding peroxide cured elastomers such as silicone rubber, EPDM, FKM, NBR (nitrile rubber) and HNBR (hydrogenated nitrile rubber) to zinc phosphatized steel and other rigid substrates, LORD Chemlok 8116 is environmentally resistant and easy to apply. This new adhesive has good resistance to hot oils and water, as well as other engine fluids, making Chemlok 8116 suitable for use in the manufacture of gaskets, seals and NVH components.

"Chemlok 8116 is a one-coat, aqueous-based adhesive proven to perform under harsh conditions that meets the demands of high temperature applications and VOC-free options," said Karen Sy-Laughner, Industrial Marketing Manager, Americas.

LORD Chemlok 8116 adhesive requires only a single coat for most applications, reducing labor, inventory and shipping costs. Specially designed to withstand higher operating temperatures, it provides excellent resistance to water, humidity, salt spray and high temperatures.
