FLEXcon Unveils SHELF Select, a Unit Price Label for At-retail Shelf-marking Environments

FLEXcon, an innovator in adhesive coating and laminating, announced a new product line, SHELF Select for the at-retail shelf-marking environment. Applications include shelf talkers and shelf markers for use in the freezer, dairy case, and on the dry goods shelf. For brand marketers and retailers, the shelf edge represents a prime area of retail real estate to engage with the shopper.

A shelf marker is a unit price label (UPL) affixed to the shelving channel that communicates the total item price and price per unit, along with product information to the consumer. The shelf talker is a mini billboard, which typically hangs off the shelf, promoting a sale or bringing attention to an item with colorful, vibrant graphics and typography for promotion of a product. A shelf talker is one of the last places a retailer or brand can advertise or draw consumer attention to a sale item. In addition, it can be used as a space to convey additional product details to the consumer. By using shelf talkers effectively, brands and retailers can enhance brand loyalty and increase sales.

Freezers are challenging environments which often cause shelf talkers to curl or have poor adhesion to the freezer channels. FLEXcons SHELF Select FCFZR and FWFZR products deliver robust performance in the freezer, dairy case, and on the dry goods shelf. Its vinyl facestocks survive routine cleaning of the shelf and removes in one piece with no adhesive transfer. The removable adhesive bonds well to powder-coated paint, metal, high-and-low-surface energy plastics and glass. FLEXcons patented release liner technology lays flat through a variety of laser printers and in challenging freezer conditions.
