Lohmann Develops DuploCOLL FR, a Range of Flame-retardant Double-sided Adhesive Tape

The "Bonding Engineers" at Lohmann have developed a range of flame-retardant double-sided adhesive tape called DuploCOLL FR (flame retardant) which can be used in a variety of areas where stringent fire safety regulations have otherwise made it difficult to apply adhesive joins.

The new product range comprises a flame-retardant non-woven carrier, a silicone paper liner and two specially-developed acrylic adhesive systems. DuploCOLL FR is currently available in two variants DuploCOLL 94000 FR and DuploCOLL 94100 FR depending on whether stronger adhesion or Cohesion properties are required. Accordingly, a wide variety of materials including flame-retardant foam and plastic can be attributed self-adhesive features.

The new range of adhesive tapes is particularly suitable for high-tech sectors where fire safety is a high priority. These include the automotive, railway and aviation industries, shipbuilding or the electrical and electronics industry, for example. Many applications are also possible in the construction industry, including in the manufacture of fire protection windows and doors, interior partition walls or elevators. Thanks to its flame-retardant features, DuploCOLL FR not only complies with maximum safety requirements but is also very environmentally-friendly as the new product range is free of solvents, halogens and APEOs (alkylphenolethoxylates). Numerous internal and external tests confirm the outstanding properties displayed by this new range of adhesive tape.
