Medline at AORN Surgical Conf. & Expo: to Debut Latest Innovation in Topical Skin Adhesives

MUNDELEIN, Ill. -- For surgeons looking for a more precise way to apply skin adhesives and reduce the need for sutures, Surgiseal Twist is now available for minimally invasive surgical incisions and simple lacerations. Medline is launching the newly designed skin adhesive at the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) Surgical Conference & Expo 2014 in Chicago, March 30 - April 2.

Surgiseal Twist is the only topical skin adhesive available with an innovative, gravity-fed applicator, which allows the adhesive to flow naturally onto the wound without the user needing to apply pressure. The adhesive is made with a 2-octyl cyanoacrylate formulation and dispenses a high percentage of adhesive while creating a strong, flexible film which acts as a microbial barrier while intact.

"Surgiseal Twist is designed with the surgeon in mind. With its intuitive applicator design, the skin adhesive can be precisely placed on contoured areas as well as on broader wounds," said Bridget Donovan, category manager for wound closure devices, Medline.
