Bayer to Expand Production Capacity of TPU at its Cuddalore Facility in India

Mumbai, India -- Bayer MaterialScience is planning to increase its production capacities in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu India to meet the continued growth in demand for thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). With the addition of a second TPU production line, the annual capacity of Cuddalore site will increase to 6,000 metric tons from its current capacity of 2,500 metric tons.The installation is expected to be completed by the 2nd quarter 2015.

The Cuddalore site supplies TPU under Bayer’s tradename Desmopan to the Indian market as well as to customers in Europe. The company has recently received Environmental Clearance from the Ministry of Environment which is supplemented by a permit from the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB).
