MACtac Improves its Laminate Series for Signage Industry

MACtac Distributor Products improves PERMACOLOR LUV with the original ColorGard adhesive, resulting in the new industry standard PERMACOLOR ColorGard LUV intermediate laminates. The ColorGard platform is a proven adhesive that outperforms the competition and is now paired with the superior LUV facestock. This merge of properties was developed in response to customer feedback.

PERMACOLOR ColorGard LUV was developed to improve the efficient processing through cold roll lamination techniques, without the need for heat, drying or messy coating operations for MACtac customers. The adhesive wet-out over all inkjet prints improves laminated applications such as POP displays, retail, trade show imaging and wall mural installations.

“We realized the PERMACOLOR LUV was a great product, but our customers were asking for more,” said Jason Yard, marketing manager, MACtac Distributor Products. “We developed an improved product that brought together the strengths of our facestocks with the advantages of our ColorGard adhesive to allow for a better bond to latex, solvent and especially UV prints to satisfy the needs of our customers.”

The improved blended laminate can be used on a variety of photographic prints, transparencies, UV screen printed images and latex, solvent-, eco-solvent, water-based and UV inkjet prints to impart protection from abrasion, moisture, UV light and other potentially damaging effects in both indoor and outdoor environments.
