Henkel introduces Loctite AA 5884, a polyacrylate liquid gasketing sealant offering oil resistance and low gas permeability. Loctite AA 5884 is cured by ultra-violet light within seconds and becomes a solid compression gasket with no knit line. The absence of a knit line reduces the risk of re-work and leakages and enhances productivity.
Oil and Automatic Transmission Fluids Resistant
The liquid gasket sealant eliminates the inventory and the complexity of the press-in-place (PIP) solid gaskets. The new polyacrylate liquid gasket sealant is resistant against automatic transmission fluids (ATF) and does not promote oil foaming.
The static gasket materials are positioned between two flanges, held together by fasteners to prevent the leakage of fluids and/or gases, by closing the gaps between the surfaces. The gaskets are formed by applying a bead of liquid elastomer with the use of automated high-precision equipment. The gasketing sealant enhances automotive performance and reduces overall costs.
