Franklin International, a developer and manufacturer of emulsion polymers for wood assembly and composites applications, agreed to acquire the polyvinyl acetate (PVA) adhesive and emulsion polymer isocyanate (EPI) adhesive business from Hexion.
Included in the transaction is Hexion’s manufacturing site in Portland, Oregon.
Both companies believe this transaction is mutually beneficial and will help achieve their respective strategic goals. Franklin International and Hexion Inc. are committed to ensuring a smooth transition for all employees, customers, and suppliers.
“For over four decades, Franklin International has been a trusted polymer supplier to Hexion’s PVA and EPI business, a collaboration we've aspired to deepen for many years. We're thrilled to announce the expansion of our operations into the Pacific Northwest regions of the United States and Canada, thanks to the acquisition of the Portland, Oregon facility and the innovative technology Hexion has developed. We look forward to the opportunity to provide more value with the addition of Hexion’s PVA and EPI Emulsion technology to our distinguished portfolio of adhesives for Wood Assembly,” said Evan Williams, Franklin International president and chief executive officer.
