The invention relates to a preparation method of eutectic ionic liquid modified lignin-phenolic resin. The method includes the steps that phenol and ChCl are stirred at the temperature of 55-70 DEG C till reaction liquid is transparent, and eutectic ionic liquid (DES) is obtained; lignin is treated with the eutectic ionic liquid at the temperature of 80-100 DEG C for 1-2 hours, and then a mixture of the modified lignin and DES is obtained. The method is characterized in that choline chloride which is low in price and free of toxin serves as the quaternary ammonium salt part of the eutectic ionic liquid, the choline chloride and the phenol are rapidly prepared into the DES in a mild condition, the lignin is activated through the multiple synergistic effects of solvent and catalysts of the choline chloride, separation is not needed, part of the phenol is substituted directly, and the modified lignin-phenolic resin adhesive which is excellent in performance and high in substitute amount of phenol is prepared. By means of the preparation method, tedious links of multiple times of washing, separation, drying and the like after traditional lignin is activated are reduced.
